Day in the Rec 2013
The Department of Recreational Services is gearing up for the annual Day in the Rec. Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 3, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and be ready for games, dances, food and fun in the Student Recreation Center. To celebrate the centennial year, the theme is, Looking Back – Moving Forward. Patrons may compete in games from the past 10 decades.
The event ran from 1989 – 2000 as Day in the Park, then we brought it back in 2007, as Day in the Rec. At noon, we will host a dance contest featuring songs from the 60’s – 2000’s including the Twist, YMCA, Electric Slide, Macarena and Wobble.
If participants do not want to dance, then they can take part in Skee Ball, Hop Scotch, Blackjack, Yoyo, Sailing, Shooting Gallery, Twister, Paddle Ball, Big Wheel Race, Skip It, American Gladiators, and Minute-to-Win-it horseshoes.
Participants who participate in 3 activities will receive free food and if they participate in 5 activities they will receive free food and a t-shirt.
Supported by Student Activity Fees.
