TEDxGeorgiaStateU Comes to Campus
Starting local and thinking global, twelve speakers presented inspiring discussions on the topic of change at the inaugural TEDxGeorgiaStateU on April 7, 2015. The Leadership Development office sponsored this event which garnered nearly 1,800 requests to attend, but invitations were limited to just one hundred attendees for this intimate and exclusive TEDxGeorgiaStateU event.
The TEDxGeorgiaStateU team selected Keep the Change as a common theme to ignite a conversation surrounding change and the effect it has on us on a personal level, as a community and on a global scale. During the presentations, professors, astrophysicists, entrepreneurs and more shared personal stories and research to engage others in conversations about change and how it applies to beauty, gender roles, the environment, families, communities, and women.
“We were so excited about bringing this event to campus and presenting students, faculty and staff alike an opportunity to engage in these thought-provoking talks and to consider how they can be a catalyst for change. We were thrilled with the level of interest from the community and the active engagement we saw from participants during the event. We hope this event will be the first of many future TEDxGeorgiaStateU events,” says Kristina Clement, Associate Director for Leadership Development.
The talks from TEDxGeorgiaStateU are now available to the community on the TEDx YouTube channel.
