St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn is a student led organization that raises funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life threatening diseases. No family ever receives a bill from St. Jude — not for treatment, travel, housing or food — because St. Jude wants the family to focus on their child.

St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn is an all night team challenge where teams are given clues via text messaging at intervals throughout the night of tasks they must complete in order to become the winning team. Students form teams of six and raise money in the months leading up to the event. Once they hit their fundraising goal, they are invited to participate in the all night challenge.

In its first year at Georgia State University, St. Jude Up ’til Dawn has already raised $1495 of their $20,000 fundraising goal. Georgia State students are jumping in on the action with 13 teams already formed and counting. The student organization was chartered in October 2015, and the executive board of Georgia State students and staff advisors has been hard at work bringing awareness to this new program. They have attended meetings with Student Government Association, University Housing student staffs and Student Athletic Advisory Council and have interacted with their fellow students in Library Plaza and at a home football game and with their friends in classes and residence halls. Plans for the big event night on February 20, 2016 are getting underway while team recruitment, cultivation and support is also a top priority for the group.

There is plenty of room for more teams and student involvement. Teams are not limited to students; faculty and staff can join in on the fun too! To sign up to create or join a team, see the St. Jude Up ’til Dawn website. Help us to help St. Jude in its lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children.
